At the moment there is no cure for dementia, the current treatments help to manage and slow down the progression of the symptoms.
There are also no drugs that can prevent someone developing dementia, but several studies have shown that a healthy lifestyle, including eating well, doing moderate exercise and keeping socially active, can help.
Current treatments and advice are the result of research.
Research needs people to take part - either people living with dementia,
people caring for someone and
even healthy people who can be used to make comparisons.
